Behind the walls of Lang’ata Maximum Women’s Prison are dedicated wardens who work tirelessly to maintain discipline, provide care, and support rehabilitation. Yet, outside those walls, many of them and their families live in slum-like housing without sanitation, privacy, or safety. Married women share single rooms with their children, stripped of the dignity of family life. The Restoring Dignity campaign seeks to construct 380 modern, self-contained bedsitter units across four U-shaped blocks within the prison compound.
